Bybit vs Bitget welcome bonus: fixed rewards vs mystery box
Bybit and Bitget both pay new users through a referral link, and both lean on mystery boxes for the headline. The difference is how much of the offer is fixed. This page compares the two using only what the exchanges publish on their own pages, checked on the date at the bottom.

Bybit: mostly fixed, with one box
Bybit's welcome programme is capped at $30,020. The early rewards are fixed sums: a $100 sign-up bonus after registration and the starter tasks, 10 USDT for a first deposit of at least 100 USD within seven days, and 15 USDT for 500 USD of trading volume within thirty days. One mystery box of up to 1,000 USDT opens at 10,000 USD of volume in the same thirty days, and above that a deposit bonus ladder pays $50 to $30,000 for deposits from $500 to $250k with volume targets. The referral code page has the full table.
Bitget: airdrop plus boxes
Bitget's referral event pays the invited user in two steps. Step one, after a net deposit of at least 200 USDT and completion of one trading task, is a BTC airdrop worth $9 and a mystery box of up to 500 USDT. Step two, once the invitee's total trading volume exceeds 100,000 USDT, is a further BTC airdrop worth $18 and a mystery box of up to 1,000 USDT. Tasks count within 15 days of sign-up. Bitget's own headline of "a mystery box worth 1,500 USDT" is the two ceilings added together, not a single reward.
The trading task at step one is shown in full only after login; the public page says "any one of the following trading tasks" without listing them. We report what is visible.
Fixed money versus ceilings
Line the two up by what is guaranteed and the picture is clear. Bybit's guaranteed early rewards come to $100 plus 25 USDT, with a 100 USD deposit and 500 USD of volume. Bitget's guaranteed reward is a $9 airdrop, with a 200 USDT deposit and a trading task. Everything else on Bitget is a box with a ceiling, and Bybit's own box is likewise a ceiling.
The volume thresholds also differ by an order of magnitude. Bybit's box opens at 10,000 USD of turnover; Bitget's second tier needs 100,000 USDT. For a new account trading modestly, Bybit's box is reachable in the first month and Bitget's second tier is not.
Deadlines
Bybit: 7 days for the deposit bonus, 30 days for the trade bonus and mystery box. Bitget: 15 days for the invitee's tasks, which covers both the deposit and the trading task, and is tighter than Bybit's 30-day trading window while looser than its 7-day deposit window. The claim guide puts Bybit's steps in order.
Availability
Bybit does not serve residents of the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, the EEA, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan and a set of sanctioned territories; the availability guide has the list and our button checks your country before it redirects. Bitget runs its own restrictions, including a notice that it does not operate in Thailand; check Bitget's site for your country, since we do not verify Bitget availability here.
Which one to pick
If the bonus is part of the decision, Bybit's offer has more fixed money in it and a lower threshold for its one box. If you are choosing Bitget for other reasons, the referral rewards are a modest extra and the mystery boxes should be treated as unknown until opened. On either exchange, the reward that lasts is the fee schedule, and the fees guide shows Bybit's.
