Bybit referral program: 20–30% commission for 365 days
Bybit runs two schemes that pay people for bringing in new users, and searches for "Bybit referral program" usually want the first one: the referral scheme that any account holder can switch on from the app. This page explains what it pays, how the rate moves, how long it lasts, and what the person you refer receives, using Bybit's own help-centre figures.

What the referrer earns
You earn a share of the trading fees your referees pay. The share starts at 20% and is paid on every trade the referee makes for 365 days after they register. Bybit does not pay on deposits or balances; if your referee never trades, you earn nothing, and if they trade heavily, you earn a lot, because the share is of fees rather than a flat bounty.
The rate rises on quarterly performance. Five qualified referees in a quarter unlock 25%. A hundred qualified referees in a quarter, or at least $15 million of derivatives trading volume from your referees in a quarter, unlock 30%. The upgrade is not permanent: if the next quarter falls below five qualified referees, or referee derivatives volume falls below $15 million, the rate returns to 20%. "Qualified" is Bybit's term for a referee who has completed the tasks Bybit sets, which at minimum means verified and trading.
The commission is paid in the asset the fee was paid in and lands in the referral dashboard of your account. There is no minimum payout that we could find in the FAQ; check the dashboard's own terms.
What the referee earns
The person you bring in receives Bybit's welcome programme, capped at $30,020. The first pieces do not depend on how much they deposit: a $100 sign-up bonus after registration and the starter tasks, 10 USDT for a first deposit of at least 100 USD within seven days, and 15 USDT for 500 USD of trading volume within thirty days. A mystery box of up to 1,000 USDT opens at 10,000 USD of volume in the same thirty days. Above that sits a deposit bonus ladder that pays $50 to $30,000 for deposits from $500 to $250k with matching volume targets.
The referral code page lists every rung with its condition, and the claim guide puts the deadlines in the order they expire. If you refer someone, send them there; the seven-day deposit window is the one people miss.
The rules that matter
The referral must be set at registration. A referee who signs up without your link or code cannot be added to your account afterwards, and Bybit does not backdate. Sending the link, not just the code, is the reliable route, because a link applies the code automatically and a typed code is easy to skip.
One identity, one account. Referring yourself, or opening a second account under the same identity to collect a referee bonus, breaches Bybit's terms and leaves both accounts frozen at verification. The programme is for bringing new people to the exchange, and Bybit's verification is built to catch the alternative.
Regions apply. Bybit does not serve the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, the European Economic Area, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan and a set of sanctioned territories; a referral from one of those places goes nowhere. The availability guide has the list.
Referral versus affiliate
The affiliate program is a separate, contract-based scheme with its own terms, higher commission tiers, and stricter rules, among them a ban on paid advertising and a requirement to disclose the commission before every link. It is aimed at people who run sites, channels or communities, and Bybit approves applicants individually. This site operates under the affiliate program, which is why every button here carries a short disclosure.
For an individual referring friends, the referral program from the app is the right tool: no application, no contract, and the same welcome rewards for the person you refer.
What this means for a new user
If you are reading this because someone sent you a Bybit link, the practical facts are simple: their commission comes out of Bybit's fee income, not out of your pocket, your fee schedule is the same with or without a code, and the welcome rewards are only attached if the code is present at registration. The promo code guide explains the difference between a referral code and the other kinds of code Bybit issues, and the fees guide shows the schedule your account will actually be on.
Frequently asked questions
- How much does the Bybit referral program pay?
- 20% of the trading fees your referees pay, from the start. The rate rises to 25% if you bring five qualified referees in a quarter and to 30% at a hundred qualified referees or $15 million of referee derivatives volume in a quarter. It drops back to 20% if the quarterly targets are missed.
- How long do referral commissions last?
- 365 days from the referee's registration. After that the referee stays on Bybit but their fees no longer earn you commission.
- What does the person I refer get?
- The welcome programme, capped at $30,020: a $100 sign-up bonus, 10 USDT for a first deposit of 100 USD within seven days, 15 USDT for 500 USD of trading volume within thirty days, a mystery box of up to 1,000 USDT, and a deposit bonus ladder above that.
- Is the referral program the same as the affiliate program?
- No. The referral program is open to every Bybit user from the app. The affiliate program is a separate contract with higher rates, its own terms, and a prohibition on paid advertising. This site runs on the affiliate program.
